The Jordanian legislator, in alignment with other Arab and international legislations, has shown significant interest in issues related to juveniles since the enactment of the Juvenile Law, which has undergone several amendments, along with the recent Child Law.

Recognizing that this segment represents the cornerstone of society and its future, the state is committed to protecting it from the dangers of sliding into criminal activities and providing a safe and healthy environment for their development. Various state institutions, from the Directorate for Family Protection in the Public Security Department to the Public Prosecution and specialized judiciary, have evolved to enhance their performance in line with these legislations. They aim to provide protection according to the highest international standards, ensuring rehabilitation and preventing juveniles from falling into the pitfalls of crime.

Moreover, the Jordanian legislator, in the Penal Code, emphasized crimes when the victim is a juvenile. Understanding the importance of this segment and ensuring effective representation, whether the juvenile is an offender or a victim, requires both academic and practical expertise.  It is benefit to mention in this area, that the general manager of Nazaha Law Firm presented the first doctoral dissertation discussing “Criminal Justice for Juveniles” at the Faculty of Law / University of Jordan, passing with the rate of distinction.
